My widster, bestie, twin in many ways and partner in crime, LaNita Herlem and I have decided to start our very own BlogTalkRadio show called "Real Widows..." The name comes from a series of books that I just love called "Real Vampires Dont Diet". The idea behind the name was to not just say we are "real" people, with "real" feelings, "real" emotions, but we are "real" in many other ways too. We deal with the same everyday crap that everyone else does, we just have the added bonus of getting to do this while grieving, trying to put our lives back together, find happiness again and make sense of all that has happened in our lives.
Each of our shows will be called "Real Widows..." then followed by the topic we will discuss that week, i.e. "Real Widows....face tax season" or "Real Widows....start to date again." or "Real Widows....discuss PTSD". It will be our way of opening discussions and informing, we hope; not just other widows but other people on what we go through, how we manage, the hard times, the happy times, the memories, the time lost, and now....the moving forward and living life again. Which is not as easy for us as you may think. We hear things you would not believe and these are all the things that will be discussed with humor, sarcasm, a little smart assness (is that a word?) and a lot of heart!
I hope you will join us in June for our first show any many times after that. We will bring much from our own lives and experiences and this could prove to be an amazing journey! Not sure BTR is ready for the two of us, but I know we are very ready for it! :)
